INTERIOR DESIGNER

We are seeking an intermediate to senior Interior Designer to join our team of creative individuals who share a passion for design excellence and construction/project management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and a drive to succeed in a fast-paced environment. They must be able to work in a highly collaborative team as well as independently depending and take ownership of projects and client communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and managed projects
  • Participate in all project phases: space planning, conceptual design, design development, consultant coordination, construction documents and construction administration.
  • Support fellow Designers & Construction Managers at site measures and client meetings as required.
  • Preparation of CAD drawings for permit, tender & construction packages; drafting Floor plans, elevations, millwork & details. Door, finish & equipment schedules.
  • Project management and communicating regularly with clients
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, material palettes, light fixtures and equipment.
  • Produce graphic presentations, including 3D renderings, for client presentations
  • Contribute to the preparation of construction documents, including plans, elevations, details, and specification.
  • Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections.
  • Establish relationships with local vendors and develop an understanding of product offerings
  • Participate and contribute to office and firm culture

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program.
  • 5+ years experience working with a recognized Interior Design or Architectural firm.
  • Preferred: LEED certified and/or NCIDQ or in the process of completion.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Windows (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and Sketch-up.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Close attention to detail and technical abilities
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes and specifications.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Self-directed, able to work individually and in a team setting.
  • Exceptional time management skills.

This position is located at our Vancouver office. **Must be eligible to work in Canada**
